DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Wednesday 9/24

Escrow.com

As a grower of plants it looks like I’m about to have another opportunity opening up here in Illinois.  The state has begun taking applications for growers of medical marijuana and they will take one from each county.  Our nursery can grow plants and I imagine growing weed can’t be that much harder than growing petunias other than people won’t kill you to steal 15 petunia plants.  Illinois being typical Illinois requires every to pay a huge application fee that is kept regardless if you are chosen or not.  Sounds like ICANN and the new gTLDs.  I have a group ask me to join but I absolutely hate throwing away $25K if they don’t choose us.  I also don’t know if I even want to be in that business.  A lot of security issues and HUGE upfront money required.  I think I may just stick to petunias.  Hell, they die and people pay $4 and buy another one every year.  That sounds almost as good as pot.  Here are today’s names.

IndyCars.com  A lot of people watch Formula One racing.  Probably safer with Indycars.com than FormulaOne as far as trademark. 18 years old and seeing some action

BackUpService.com  This is a great name and deserves to be in the thousands of dollars and not the hundreds IMO

ESVA.com   15 years old and under $100 at press time

LetsMix.com  Good dating name.  I guess it could also be a cooking name.  13 years old

eChinese.com  Only one bidder.  I realize the Chinese probably won’t buy this but still a good name

Mashups.net  Even as a dot net I think it’s probably worth $12.  No bidders

StreamingVid.com  No bidders.  Streaming movies is going to catch on some day

FCJR.com   All good letters. Yes, J is a good letter

75112.com  Awesome 5L.com .  Over under $400

XOGY.com  You know I like LLLL.coms that start with X.  Cheap and pronounceable

34009.com  Surprised this isn’t getting much action

YJVJ.com  Not a super valuable domain but fun to say and easy to remember..so maybe it is

BuyCheapOnline.com  Pretty much what every person is trying to do buy things cheaper online.  Getting some love so others like it as well

Term.io  If you look and see which dot IO names are selling this is the exact kind.  Short and brandable.

Working Godaddy Domain Code of the day. $10 off PURCHASES OF $50 OR MORE ACOSKS65

UniqueDesigns.com 17 years old. A lot of people can design but not everyone can be unique

BuyShares.com   $19 CPC for this stock name

TomatoPatch.com   Cute brand.  Unfortunately one bidder.  I guess that’s better than 50 but I wanted it for $69

Danzi.com  I liked it as a 5L.com and then saw 166 bidders.  I knew it was a name but damn that’s a lot of bidders.  I’m missing something

CorporateReputation.com  Because you need someone to protect you against Yelp and Angie’s list

GrayBird.com  Great brand but you better buy GreyBird as well

BuyEggs.com  As a person that sells farm eggs I know this one would help sell more eggs

Calories.org Easy buildout.  Just put the calories of all billion foods on a site.  Maybe not so easy

MilkFree.com  Surprised there aren’t many bidders on this pending delete

  1. Hello Shane,

What is the potentially upside on the weed? Not just this year but in say 5 years time.

  2. CNBC was talking this a.m. about real tax rate on the mj businesses since they are not federally legal. Very High since one can’t write off expenses like a regular business. illinois is the most stringent of most states i believe as well.

  3. The thing is, there is an art to growing weed, if you want good weed.
But i’m sure you know all about that owning a nursery.
Knowing when to pull the male plants so they don’t pollinate the female plants.
Knowing the right time to harvest the plants, so the buds don’t rot.
Pot plants also get worms and grasshoppers, that eat the plant if grown outside..
These are a few basic points to growing weed, growing sellable weed.
These plants take work, just like a fine wine…lol
