I’m always explaining to my employees that I don’t pay their salaries. The customers pay their salaries. The money the customers spend pay for the product and their salaries and I keep a little for myself for taking the financial risk. Its how it works with a successful business. It doesn’t work like this in startups. They spend the money of the investors to pay employees, all on the bet that the paying customers will come later. When it works it makes a lot of money for a lot of people. But the reality is that most fail and take the money of the investors with it. The investors are treating their investments like our domains. Not all are going to do well but we hope that a few will pay for the rest and more. I can’t run my business like this. I’m not very good at down the road income businesses. My ideas generate less than 3 year payoffs. If I can’t get it done in that timeframe I will move on to one that can. Call it old school or risk averse. I call it business. Where the goal is to make a profit. Reinvest it to try and make more. Simple. Here are today’s names. Click to see current prices
