I got one of the best gifts I’ve received in quite a while in the mail yesterday from Directnic.com. Yesterday was Fat Tuesday or the end of Mardi Gras as well as Directnic’s 15th anniversary. One of the local traditions of Mardi Gras is the King Cake. A cinnamon bun tasting, circle of breadd with a plastic baby Jesus in it. Directnic sent me one yesterday with some beads, a few masks and some candles. It was perfect timing and a great surprise…and I didn’t break a tooth on Baby Jesus. Which are all the key ingredients of a good gift. And I looked like I was really into Mardi Gras at the office when I asked “Hopefully nobody else brought a King Cake today because I did”. Thanks Directnic for making my day. Much better than the “fart in a jar” that someone sent me last month.
And for all you “What’s up with Shane’s Hamstring Injury He Suffered at NamesCon” followers. I finally reached a settlement out of court with Andy Booth who organized the tournament. Also my doctor cleared me to start running again. But I also realized I am weak. I have been doing the same thing for 10 years and neglected the rest of my muscles. So now I’m supposed to find another 30 to 45 minutes a day to lift, do plyometrics, and yoga to work the rest of my body. That shouldn’t be a problem. I should be able to get a lot of done on the second Tuesday of each week. Here are todays names. Click to see current prices.

‘Humour.net The English still keep the useless letters in their name.’ Ha! They are French letters.
Shane, if anyone can fit another 40 minutes work into a day it’ll likely be you! You’re right about our useless letters… I’m just glad we don’t give inanimate objects genders.
John,
That’s why they are called Romance languages, because even nouns have a sex. The problem with being known as a person that is always “doing” is that when I’m not I feel guilty. 🙂
So glad you enjoyed the king cake, Shane! Don’t forget; the person who finds the plastic baby Jesus has to buy the next one 😉
Leslie,
I got him so I guess its on me. I was hoping you were going to celebrate your 16th anniversary as well 🙂
A Sweet 16 sounds good to me!
