  1. I’ve hovered about at a lot of NameJet auctions of late without making a single purchase, so I figured I’d better buy some names before they busted me for loitering. “1400.com” is one of a few I’ve picked up over the past month.

It would have been nice to pay about $2k less than I did, but oportunities to buy “NNNN.com”s that are genuinely pleasing to the Western eye don’t come up often enough… I’m hoping that argument will fly with my other half when she gets home from work this evening to discover I’ve bought yet “another stupid name that’s not even a word.”

In fact, for sake of household harmony, I think I might tell her it sold for just under $4k. 😉

    1. GaryShane,

I loved the domain myself. I think you have a great name. The problem is the name has been shopped hard in the Chinese market and there weren’t any takers. You’ll be fine though. Lots of American buyers and it will only go up in value…….eventually 🙂

  2. LOL you guy’s playing with those darn NNNN.com’s again

Personally I’m sticking to the LLL.com’s, at least they have a broader appeal to the marketplace. 😉

But hey if you know how to sell them (NNNN.com’s) good luck with them!

  3. “The problem is…” – You’d get along well with my girlfriend. 🙂

I’ve owned and sold a bunch of numeric names, and like yourself, have found it impossible to lose money on the things. I could probably belt out a ten page treatise on the merits and drawbacks of a particular numeric acquisition, but I seriously doubt any of it would accurately predict traffic, performance, or the eventual sales price.

“LOL you guy’s playing with those darn NNNN.com’s again?” – It feels that way sometimes.
