I didn’t realize that people still go bowling until the other day when I took my daughter. We decided to go for something to do during the middle of the day when the humidity and heat was out of control.
Yesterday we went again and bowled 2 games because we signed up for a free kids bowling all summer long. They offer 2 free games everyday for kids, and a discounted family pass for adults. The adult pass only cost $20 for the summer with the discount code. Here’s a tip if you’re interested: after you sign your kid up, you’ll be presented with the family pass option. If you click “no thanks”, they take you different sales screen and lower the price by 25%.
It seems like a ingenious marketing idea for bowling alley’s. We still had to pay for the shoe rentals and bought a drink. Both times we were bowling there was only one other lane being used so it’s not like people are knocking the doors down to bowl. With a business like a bowling alley it seems like anything you can do to get people in the door is a good idea. The lanes and balls just sit there not making money. It’s different than a business with a product that has a cost, you can’t just give those away.
My daughter bowls with the bumpers up and I probably should too, we both suck at bowling. Maybe by the end of the summer we’ll be pros. I don’t even hold the damn thing right, I sorta cradle it in my arm and launch it with a little english. It’s never a consistent throw, but it usually has a nice curve to it. I might try the ramps next time, I feel like I could line that thing up really well.

If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
I emailed Shane 30 minutes ago telling him to grab Shaney.com! Now it’s going to cost him twice as much because of you! lol
My favorite of the day is VisibilityCloak.com .. I saw it a couple of nights ago and just died laughing when I had to re-read it 5 times just to be sure it wasn’t InvisibilityCloak.com! 🙂
Yeah, I think it’d make the perfect email for him. [email protected]
You’ve been watching too much Harry Potter. 🙂
Bowling is also nice for teambuilding and to have some fun with businesspartners. I love it!
I think the key to fun, teambuilding bowling would be beer. Get all kinds of deals done that way.
Buy some cheap bowling shoes to take with you to make it even cheaper. The rentals at bowling alleys are made for durability, not comfort. $20 – $25 will get you a pair of your own clean, comfortable shoes.
That’s a great idea Steven, I didn’t know they were so cheap. Man, if I get the shoes all I’ll need is my own ball with my name on it and I’ll look like a real Baller.
Looks like another one of Shane’s domains is about to drop in a few minutes:
