The plan is to go to the lower Potomac and fish a tournament today.
It’s about 1 am, I need to drive to Western Maryland and get my boat, install the batteries in the boat, grab some equipment that’s in my other boat, scrounge up some kind of bait, tow the boat after I install a 4 to 7 pin adapter, hope the trailer lights work, drive to Fort Washington in Prince George’s county by 6am, Win the tournament and then drive straight to work.
Some of today’s goals are:
-Don’t sink the boat
-Don’t drown
-Stay awake driving
-Avoid the Coast Guard, Maryland Natural Resource Police and whatever police agency patrols DC waters. It’s not that I don’t like them, but they get bored in the winter. I wouldn’t call it harassment per say, but they’ll keep looking until they find some violation. Last time I was fishing south of DC, I got stopped by a MD DNR officer. It was like a 30 minute interview, searching around for random ass “safety” equipment, then my registration wouldn’t come back from PA. I got a warning for not having the right paper registration in the boat. I’m not sure why I need that when there’s an ID number and registration in huge characters on the side of the boat, but at least it was only a warning.
