Earlier today Joe Styler wrote the following  in the comment section

“Thanks again for the feedback. Anytime there is something to work on we take it seriously so continue to let your account rep know and they will escalate it to the right people.

I am unaware of any regular registration path issues recently beyond what happened yesterday. The bulk search did cause some problems for a few reasons but I believe we addressed them and it has been functioning last I checked. They put quite a bit of work into that from several development teams and there is a project scoped out to revamp it entirely and provide a much better bulk experience in the future.

Casual observer was not meant to offend you but only to say we do many releases that are not customer facing but impact experience, say reducing the amount of calls we need to make for a result to happen from 15 to 10, or adding additional computing or server power to things that are noticeable only in certain instances, such as adding 20 additional languages such as Chinese. You probably wouldn’t notice those changes unless you were using the site in another country.

You bring up some valid points and I would encourage you to continue to reach out, we are constantly working on new releases and hearing from customers helps us to prioritize the work we are doing to improve the site.”

Joe,

Here’s a few highlights from emails and their dates

Hey Matt,

I’ve been having issues registering names for the last couple of weeks.

Thanks for the feedback.  I have send it up to the GoDaddy domains product manager.

Mark,
Godaddy is in desperate need of help. I’ve brought this up numerous times to different people and it’s just not getting fixed. Regular one domain registration will give me available then not available, after reloading the page it might show available again. This happens on names that I know are available. The same thing happens inside the cart area.

I will let you know when they roll out the new bulk search function for the Front of Site. Since we have been reporting these errors for months to the developers they told us they would allocate additional servers for the bulk search function only. They said they are rolling out a new bulk search feature that should not have any limitations and will be a nice upgrade but I am in the same position as you with the current system because it does not work for us.

The bulk search did cause some problems for a few reasons but I believe we addressed them and it has been functioning last I checked. They put quite a bit of work into that from several development teams and there is a project scoped out to revamp it entirely and provide a much better bulk experience in the future.

I wasn’t offended Joe, But we were talking about how the site works not what levers the wizard might be pulling behind the curtain. None of us care about these things when the basic bread and butter operations suck. It’s like the investor app, great idea but I still can’t register names, and the mobile links still don’t work.

Is it good to know that a Chinese version is now available? Sure! I’m glad it is, it means more exposure for my premium and auction listings, unless of course the damn thing doesn’t work and the Chinese just leave feeling frustrated.

You bring up some valid points and I would encourage you to continue to reach out, we are constantly working on new releases and hearing from customers helps us to prioritize the work we are doing to improve the site.”

I am not the enemy. I am probably the only dumbass blogging about how I have stayed at Godaddy, I have written my reasons several times for the world to see. Everyone else is comparing Godaddy with Uniregistry and Godaddy is losing big.  I also have names at uniregistry, several thousand,  I too find it a much more enjoyable experience than other registrars.

Joe, I feel like you had a great opportunity to ease our minds, share your vision, explain why things are broken and how they will be fixed. Instead, I feel like you’ve just told us everything is fine, that the issues aren’t really there and not to worry because the site is now available in Chinese.
