We’ve discussed a lot of small businesses that have developed on new G’s, but this one appears to be more of a hobby site….at least for now.

Someone that owns 200+ other domains picked up and developed a .lol domain for a fun site about knock knock jokes. According to Whois records, the owner is based in Oceanside, California and owns other developed domains such as

With, you get what you’d expect at the site….some jokes. Frankly, most are a little corny, but my sense of humor isn’t the same as everyone else’s. One example,

Nana your business.

They’re already getting some traffic, with its Alexa rank near 12 million. One of the owner’s other developed sites is monetized by Google Adsense, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that on in the future.

They started on, and then switched this year to, perhaps because the new extension gives them a more global feel than the .es from Spain, which is where the company is based.

The start-up that calls this domain home is trying to disrupt the podcast, audiobook and audio course market.

They’re also developing an advertising product to help publishers monetize their podcasts, “adding visual ads that pops-up with every image, link or text you have synchronised with the audio track”.
