Contrary to the wonderful pictures of their bike trips and nearby beaches, I live in the frozen tundra of Illinois. It’s always cold and the wind howls, making outdoor events available to those with good clothing or for people that are moving. While I haven’t had to push snow yet this year, I’ve had to spread salt several times in some very cold temperatures. I am always surprised how I get used to it. Even in below zero temperatures. Yesterday I was signed up for a 28 mile trail race and after 16 miles I was tired of being outside. I wasn’t that cold (18 degrees) but every time I slowed down I got cold and I had enough. I am not a quitter but I also realize when things aren’t that important. Finishing wasn’t important so I went home. All I could think about though during the race was going to a place that was warmer. Hopefully LA will provide that next week. Here are today’s names and the daily quote.
