I was transferring out a few names to my Godaddy account and am absolutely astonished how long it takes other registrars to send out auth codes. Register.com and Network Solutions should be ashamed of themselves for taking a simple task of auto emailing of auth codes and turning them into a several day process. It makes a domain holder never want to come back. Godaddy may have some problems but they are almost always timely and understand the value of quick transactions. Some of the other registrars have the idiotic thought that delaying a transfer out may cause people to not leave when in reality it causes them to have a bad taste in their mouth to the point they want to avoid working with the company again. Here are today’s names

I cry a little every time I win an auction and find out the name is with Network Solutions.
The irony is when you speak with a rep they pride themselves as having top notch customer service. It’s sad their 3-day auth code delay and auto-renew “gold” feature is probably the only way they can retain a domain in their grimy hands.
