SHANE’S BIG LIST: Thursday’s Domains at Auction or Dropping on February 27th, 2014

Escrow.com

Looks like I lost a few more new gTLD advertisers with my article yesterday on buying new gTLDS.  As a domain blogger we all got excited about new money coming in to the space for promotion but I’m not helping my cause very much.  Hopefully I’ll find a company I can work with in getting their gTLD out.  But it has to be one I believe in so I can honestly support their business.  As I stated before, I really am looking forward to .gardening and I’ll be the ideal person to promote it but after the article I somehow doubt you’re going to see a big U on the site 🙂  And a special thanks to Witold for fixing the problems with the names not appearing in Chrome.  Evidently chrome doesn’t like a lot of links that start in http so I needed to change them to https.  Problem fixed.  Thank you Witold for spending the time to help, much appreciated. Here are today’s names. Looking for 3 Names for the BOOK of 10 by end of day.  Bulk discount if you have 2 names.

Bitesized.com  Everything is getting smaller and and become “bite sized”.  Great name for showcasing somebody’s product that is smaller

SalesTech.com  1990 domain, yes 1990.  So many uses.  Two of the biggest industries in the world wrapped into one domain

IF7.com  LLNs have been doing well.  CCC are oh so liquid

DeltaSprings.com  I’m sure there are plenty of places named this.  Pretty sure they would pay more than $25 to own it

IW4.com  Still short, still liquid

MyGuns.com Really surprised there is only one bidder.  Gun owners are so passionate

CannibisJournal.com   You can hide your weed in it

02022.com  A lot of people don’t understand numbers and why they sell.  There is a whole world of numerics and while I don’t understand why all sell for what they do but I know I want to be a part of anything that has a solid market

Vovo.co   I only own a few dot co and they all are exactly like this one.  o o dot co sounding.  I have bobo.co and it has decent type in

GoodSwing.com  Golfers and baseball players are always looking for it

MedicalEscorts.com  Sounds a little different than the escorts I see in Vegas.  But I imagine their both going to cost a lot of money

DirtyBlonde.com  Great brand.  I like lighter blondes but honestly I just like fit and long hair.  But super honestly I’ve married over my head so I’ll stick with what I have

SiteTester.com  Web coders and designer have all kinds of tools to test sites.  Nice name to package those tools.  No bidders

ENTO.com   Acronym or brand.  Nice and short

  1. That loss if advertisers is telling Shane.
It shows that you’re not one of the many obsequious domain bloggers who claim to be impartial but are afraid to bite the hand that pays and I’m sure I speak for all if you readers when I say I truly appreciate it.

Your blog is not the best looking (sorry bro) and I don’t always agree with the domains you include in your lists, nor do I always understand how your domaining model works. All of that is besides the point.
I enjoy reading your blog and do so everyday because of the (usually) on-point humor, the refreshing honesty and transparency, the lack of click baity post titles and the occasional nugget of business wisdom which is invaluable coming from a man with a successful brick and mortar estate.

Screw the haters and keep doing what you do.

    Blogging, you’re doing it right.

    1. Leon,

New layout coming. Tia starts working on it next week (or soon). I also have a very big announcement coming regarding the blog as well. My investing model is fairly simple. Find domains that sell. Numerics, CCC.com CVCV, good generics. Then utilize the auction houses to sell them and a few private sales for the bigger profits but less frequent. Throw in a little parking money, a half dozen sites that bring in a few thousand, and then the blog. All in all brings in enough money to live on but it goes back into having a fun life and buying more domains. And thank you

“That loss [o]f advertisers is telling”

    Agree.

There’s too much thin skin and (ass kissing) in this business.

  3. I am in no doubt that you will find the right advertiser soon because you are one of the few that speaks there minds no matter what the situation is and every industry needs that.

looking forward to your new blog and announcement just hope its not Raymond Hackey taking over your writing duties, I like the guy and his writing but just think he is spread too thin right now

  4. Keep in mind Shane, there are some people like me, that ONLY read your blog for Domaining info….I only view the Domaining.com feed once per week for good stories….but your Blog is a daily routine. I know for a fact others do the same. No time for too much gossip…….

    Mike Maillet – NetProfitMedia.com

  5. just my opinion on many gtlds…there’s way too much supply and way too little demand and it’s going to get worse as more gtlds come online and people don’t renew…and the expense I believe for forming/operating gtlds is very high. And just wait until
the investors and loaning entities want their money back with huge profits. And wait for some islands, small countries etc.come to the conclusion they are not getting what they deserve or don’t like the operators of their domains (cctlds) and move to retake them. Just thoughts in the back of my mind. No specific locations named as I don’t know enough about this but know a little about human nature.

  6. Shane, I love your passion for Chinese domains!

However, would you blog; BabyBlood.com it’s US buy it!

That’s basically the same as YingXue.com in it’s negative form, as there are many variants to Chinese domains, which makes them a complete minefield, I’ve been dealing in Chinese art and ceramics for nearly 10 years and am also very interested in Chinese domains.

China is a beyond a complete nightmare to navigate as a domineer and foreigner, unless you understand some Mandarin and have the contacts, as you would expect. However, it just helps to understand the basics.

    Best to you,

    Howie.

    1. Howie,

Yes I would. I drink a cup of baby blood every day for strength and endurance so you are probably asking the wrong person. But yes I get your point. I only see the other 95 bidders and think they all can’t be wrong.

  7. Mmmmm sound good! But of course they can. You know as well as I do that this market is open to philistinism, albeit, I have seen some Chinese buyers overlook the negative connotations. It’s an odd world! Cheers mate!
