I mentioned earlier that I have been in Airbnb or rentals for 6 months out of this year. I’ve been in Europe, Asia, NYC, LA, Colorado, and North Carolina, and my feet have been in 25 of the 50 states. Many of them driving through but officially there. The good is I’ve seen some amazing places. The negative is many of the AirBnb are lacking in many areas. The issue for most is I have a dog, a lab, that I take everywhere. So the quality of those places is less. I truly think there is a big market for nicer places with hard floors that are good for dogs. Most dogs don’t mess things up and you just furnish a place accordingly. Our family place in NC has hardwood floors and allows pets. We make extra per night and the place cleans up great. It has all the amenities and anyone without a dog has no idea there were pets there before. I’m trying to save to replicate a few more places like that. The one I’m staying in now has a queen bed. That’s a no-no for me in the future. Too small. My wife and I are used to a California King and a queen is like being back in college.
