One of the things that I have been reminded of since I retired from the nursery. Some times its good to change things up. Since I’ve left my brother has remodeled the nursery and revamped a bunch of things that I hadn’t done. It think its going pretty well. Often a big change is needed to make things better. To wake people up or to provide an opportunity to change. A case of “well if we’re already going to be doing these changes we might as well do all of them”. The nursery was never about me. It’s its own entity. So if it’s going better without me then I love that. When I told my wife that things were going great and they’re finally getting some things done so asked if that bothered me. I told her as an owner of a business you want to see it succeed. With you or without you, all that matters is it does well. Being in the same role for 28 year I undoubtedly loss that drive that may be needed. I had nothing to prove. The new managers do. They want to prove they can do a better job. That is great for the company. Great for me. It means I can live my best life and not worry that my time and investment is going bad.
Part of getting older is realizing that you can get as much enjoyment from watching people you care about succeed or have fun as if you were doing it yourself. You learn this with kids. They teach you that you are no longer #1. They are. My daughter getting your PhD at Princeton is like me getting it there. I am so proud and happy and I really didn’t do anything but raise her. Her success is my success. The same goes for friends. I love to watch them be happy and do great things. I feel like I was a part of their journey and take pride that they are my friend and I am theirs. Once you get to that point. Where you worry less about yourself, life become amazing. So many more things to be happy and excited about. Instead of deriving from your actions. You get to derive it from a dozen people. Makes the day better. More enjoyable.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
I am glad things are going well for you in your new life.
