Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday, July 26th, 2021

Had an unexpected but fantastic visitor to Urbana yesterday. Jason Sheppard DMed me and said “Hey I’m filling up with gas and Champaign, you working?” I literaly just pulled in from a 17 mile, hot and hard run but if a friend from accross the country is 2 miles from you, you at least go and say hello and shake their hand. As I pulled in to the gas station we met at there was Jason looking aweome. He was standing there next to his convertable Mustang smiling like the Jason I know.

Turns out he has been traveling the country in his Mustang for 2 months seeing friends. He went all the way from North Carolina to go to Braden’s 50th birthday party and was on his way back. Of course he took the long way there which took a month. He said he bought the car just for the trip. That he sold some names, bought the car and headed out. It sounded like a dream trip. Seeing the country, seeing friends, and taking in life. And he was able to do all this because of domains. Domains are letting him live his best life. He’s earned what he has and is genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve met.

Of course I showed him around the nursery which probably blew the facade I present on twitter and here on the blog. I know he was ready to get home after being away so long but it sure was nice of him to think of me along the way. If any of you are in Urbana the invitation’s open to you as well.

PS: Jason to the selfie. Look for it on Twitter

  1. Hey Shane,

Great seeing you as well! Thanks for the tour of the nursery. Seeing how long it took for some of the plants to reach the point where you can sell them really hit home. I liken the trees that took seven years as the better domains and the potted plants that don’t take so long as the inventory names. Both important parts of the business but with vastly different time horizons.
