Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Sunday, October 24th , 2021

If you didn’t think NFTs were crazy enough I have another story. The first few months of bored apes they offered merch. 50 red hats, 100 black hats and some limited T-Shirts. Super hard to get because there were 10,000 apes. They’ve had a few sales since but I was able to get a black hat and a black long sleeve T. I put them on Ebay for $10,000. I got few 2 thousand and a five thousand dollar offer but didn’t take them. The ebay listing ended. Now I have gotten 3 people that say they will pay the $10,000. Of course I haven’t said yes but I’m not going to lie. What world are we in that someone is willing to pay $10K for two articles of clothing that weren’t worn in a game by Michael Jordan?

I can up with a plan to see what I can get. I am taking a picture of the box and the receipt and minting it as an NFT. Will put it up for 4 ETH and the buyer gets the physicals. We’ll see what happens. Of course I’ll let you know what happens.

PS. Sold another domain ,OpenSwim.com and settled on $50K for HoneyLife.com but don’t feel like the buyer is really going to pay. Nothing against Indonesian but had lots of accepted offers from Indonesia that don’t follow through.

Domain of the Day: BitVestor.com Bitcoin Investor. Worth at least a bitcoin to an enduser IMO

Quote of the Day: “If you want to be creative in any field, you have to observe. The deepest possible observation will bring enormous vision.” — Sadhguru

If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

  1. Wow, I’m in awe reading your stories on NFT’s and investing in general. Your, exposer to the stock exchange earlier in life is paying off. Like the old Kenny Rogers song: The Gambler, you seem to have a good sense of knowing when to hold them, and when to fold them. 😊 Good stuff Shane! Thanks for sharing.

    1. I don’t get them all correct but understanding the ebb and flow of general investing certainly helps. From volatility to supply to timing. It’s all the same just the underlying asset changes. People spend too much time wondering why anyone would pay so much or so little for something instead of trading it. Eventually they’ll realize nothing is about them or they’re likes or understanding. It’s about everyone else and the demand for the product regardless of why they would want it or its actual utility.

  2. Love it.
You should do a future post on commission costs of buying and selling amongst various asset classes (domains, nfts, cryptos, stocks, etc)

    1. John,

That’s a difficult piece considering you have so many different commission rates in the domain industry . From brandbucket’s 40% to stock tradings zero. NFTs are at 2.5% and whatever the commission rate of the artists plus gas fees. It would almost be a tutorial. Stocks are by far the cheapest and domains the most expensive depending who you use (Dan is the cheapest )

      1. BrandBucket’s highest rate is 30% rather than 40%. I think SquadHelp actually has the highest rate of 35%, but that all depends on list price and how you submit the name to begin with.
