The latest update on my Ford Options play. To fill in the newcomers. Back in March I sold 3 bitcoin and put it into Feb 12 and 15 2022 calls. A lot of them. I made one promise. DO NOT TOUCH THEM until 2022. I have a problem with selling too quickly. 99% of any investment I’ve choses has made money. I am really good at picking assets that have good returns. What I am not good is letting the winners run. I always sell too soon. I promise myself I wouldn’t this time. It looked bad. In general and even worse against the “you should have just left it in crypto”. Then Ford announcing the new Lightning Electric truck and crypto tanked. I was back to looking smart.
Over the summer Ford bled out and has dropped a few points. To the point I was up 1 to 2 % and time decay was picking at my options. Crypto started heating up. Earnings were last night and it was make or break. Fortunately their earnings were exactly what I thought they would be. Less cars but super high margins. High because you pay sticker right now. No negotiation. High because nobody is defaulting on payments so Ford credit is doing well. High because their retirees are dying. Getting old. To ice the cake Ford said its only going to get better. More chips rolling in and demand so high they will continue to only sell vehicles at sticker price, and a lot of them.
So today the stock is way up and I’m going to make a bitcoin or two worth of profit today. More importantly the earnings per share is going up and put it against the multiple and the stock should be at $18.50 by my estimations and I think it deserves to be at $25 before year end. That would make me a million. And that’s what I’ll wait for or bust. And try not to take some out and buy a monkey.
