While they weren’t quite dot ai auction levels, the dot io auctions at Godaddy had many of them over $3K. Which means they value them at retail at least $30K and over. I felt the names were high enough quality that they could get to those prices but I backed out at $3K for both Volcano and Ash and was second highest bidder or close for both. Great names, but just wasn’t feeling over $4K and I think that’s what it would have taken to win.
I’ve been adding to my portfolio. I generally add 50% of all sales back to new names which means my portfolio is better each year. At least that is the goal. This year, I decided to add another $50-100K to that total to ramp it up quicker. Sales were horrible in Jan, Feb and then March crushed but overall down compared to last year. Hoping they come around but it usually only takes a one or two good sales to make a year for me. Like all domain investors, I have no clue what names those will be. At this point I’ve sold zero out of 200 names on Squadhelp so far but it’s only been a few months and I’m patient. At least the stats they give you make it seem like people are interested, making me feel better 😀.
Patience is required in this game. That I have. Now if I can just get some sales
