Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021

Escrow.com

So I was in a car accident the other day. Ok it wasn’t an actual car accident. Actually my car wasn’t even involved. It was my dog. I came home a little early from work. 6pm which is early. My wife takes Franklin out for a walk around the golf course and the open fields every night before I come home. It wears him out for the evening and she likes to get out of the house.

I see him across the field and call for him. As soon as he realizes its me he dips his head and runs as hard as he can for me. From previous experience I know that he will jump into my arms. He doesn’t realize he’s put on 40lbs and still does it. From a few steps it knocks me back a little but this is 150 yard runway. I try and gauge the situation. Surely he’s not going to jump into me at that speed. But his eyes say he’s going to. The closer he gets I realize I’m in trouble. All 55 pounds of him is coming like a truck at me. I decide to try and go with the Ole method. The stand one place and them move out of the way at the last second. The problem was he decided to do the same thing.

As I lifted my leg up to avoid him he shift right and took out my leg that was planted. Causing me to flip like a rag doll landing right on my head. I haven’t hit like that in a good 30 years. You know the kind of fall where you get the breath knocked out of you and the group feels cool and pleasant? I just laid there trying to figure out the damage. I knew I was alive but also knew I was going to need a few seconds. My wife didn’t actually know what happened. She merely saw me disappear below the weeds. My dogs licking my face, I’m trying to catch my breath and clear my head, and my wife is walking up thinking I’m playing with the dog.

I don’t think I had a concussion, maybe a mild one, but definitely nauseous in the first 15 minutes. That went away and a headache for a few hours. Surprisingly the next day I felt good. Not really any signs. But then the next day came. My next and shoulders feel like I was in a car wreck. Sore as a motherfucker. Left and right a little sore but lifting my ear up on either side is like a little shot of ouch. When I woke up I thought what happened last night but then I remember my Labrador puppy steam roller accident. If you wonder what happened to him. Not a damn thing. He’s a tank. We now call him Frank the Tank

  1. I really hope you mention in your next post that you went and got medically evaluated for concussion even if it’s a few days after. Active people so often dismiss injuries, even to the head and neck.

    1. I did. My running partner is a team doc for Illinois Football and basketball. I have had more medical attention than anyone you’ve ever met
