Today we find out if we get a rate cut in the US. I don’t think we will, but I’m not willing to change my trading or place options on it. The betting sites like Polymarket have the markets at an 86% chance of a rate cut in 2025. I think we get one at the end of the year, but in September I highly doubt it. Most of the Fed chairs have said they don’t think it’s wise. Inflation is still too high with the tariffs, and the economy is still booming. Of course, Trump wants it down for housing and because he holds a ton of bonds.
The issue is there’s a reason why rates are high. Houses are still selling despite the rates. The time to sell is definitely increasing, but for a while anything priced reasonably sold immediately. Now it takes a week or two. Sure, there are a ton of homes not selling, but most of them are moonshot prices. I know because I’m in the market for a home in several places and I haven’t been able to find one for over a year. Literally no deals. Anything fair I can’t get to fast enough before it’s sold, and I can’t buy unseen. Yet many of these sales have been.
Until that changes for a longer period of time, we’re not going to see rates come down much. At least that’s my opinion. Watch them immediately drop rates 😂
On another non domain note. This is a reminder to get your blood panels. I talked about it the other day but I need you to stay healthy and living so you can come back here every day. I don’t want your heirs to have to hit me up with questions. If you get them regularly you can get ahead of problems and either find issues or have a good baseline to check against. I got mine back today and was very happy. My PSA was as low as it can get. My cholesterol was a tiny bit high. In range but last year it was under 100. I started eating 4 pieces of bacon and a rich breakfast and it skyrocked six months later to 225. Cut that out and its back to 175. But my HDL is fantastic so overall much much better. It tends to genetically run high in my family. My triglycerides were high last test to the point they called me in to talk it over. I told her I had run 13 miles before the test so she asked me to not run before tests. This time it came in as low as can be on the charts. You can see a bit of the impact of being at peak training in my white blood cells but it was made up for in the other numbers which were tremendously better at 25lbs lighter and eating clean.
This isn’t to brag, I put in a lot of work yet I also realize there is a lot of genetic things you are fighting against and keeping an eye on markers is about the only way to be preventative. I highly suggest doing the same
