If you don’t think banks and charge card companies are nervous right now with crypto entering the regulated markets, you’re kidding yourself. Companies are registering with the SEC to prove their stablecoins are backed 1-for-1 with U.S. Treasuries and deposits, meaning when a stablecoin gets purchased with other crypto, they convert it to real U.S. dollars. In the short term, they invest it and make money. They’re offering yield, which competes directly with banks — most often with a better return, but now with all the safety and security of banks. This isn’t the old days of crypto coins where it was fugazi and had no real backing.
Now you see it being added to ETFs and 401(k)s. People say this is putting the monetary system at risk, but it’s the opposite — it’s making it fair. Banks and governments controlled the system and took from the people. Now the people get to keep that profit.
Vendors love stable because there is very little transactional cost and it can instantly be deposited. No credit card fees, no chargebacks. Spendable on day one and no loss of value because it’s $1. PayPal, Stripe, and pretty much every major corporation are going to offer it. It will become normal.
How do you invest in stable? You don’t. You just enjoy the savings that, hopefully, will be passed along. Will they? Probably not — a new type of entity will be keeping most of the profit.
Quote of the Day: “Stablecoins are increasingly driving demand for short-term U.S. Treasury securities … currently accounting for about $200 billion, or roughly 2 % of the overall Treasury market.”
— David Randall, Reuters

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

100% correct. And crypto payments with ETH are going to be much bigger than people can imagine.
This was the most enlightening story of the week (or year) regarding the interplay of Ether and AI: “Ethereum’s future will be dominated by AI agents leveraging a once-dormant web standard to make real-world payments in crypto without human input, two Coinbase devs said.” https://cointelegraph.com/news/ai-agents-ethereums-biggest-power-user
