What a month May was. Best returns I’ve ever had. Domain sales? Bad. A lot of offers, but barely any sales. If it wasn’t for a high-end sale, it would have been my worst month in a couple of years. Honestly, Atom was dead. Afternic brought a few offers, but nothing materialized. Only outbound saved me. All of the marketplaces are sponsors here, and I still love the Atom platform, but May had to be a bad month all around there.
The stock market, on the other hand, was life-changing. Power stocks are still doing well, and a few of my Japanese, Korean, and Constellation stock in the Canadian market, crushed it. It will be the largest quarterly payment I’ve ever had, and that’s saying a lot, because a few NFT sales one year meant a massive tax check.
Am I worried about domain sales and the future? 100% not. I’m excited because the sales will come, and now I have built other sources of income that will make them pure gravy. I am buying fewer domain names overall. I’m not spending less, though, because I have been buying higher-end names, always looking for good LLL.coms, great brands that will stand the test of time, or AI domains.
Sean and I at Winterline had a great month. We never expected things to get going so quickly. We aren’t always selling or signing clients, but we are getting more opportunities to be in the mix than we ever expected. Of course, we are going to lose some domains to the biggest brokers in the world. But we get to compete with them, and being considered as a choice is more than we can ask for.
Grateful, excited, and can’t wait for another great month in June.
PS: Winterline’s first newsletter is out. Give it a read and signup if you haven’t
