While not definitive, those who are happy at home tend to be more successful at work. It could be that happier people bring happiness into the home, or vice versa. It could also be that asshats are asshats and struggle in all environments. You also never know what people are dealing with in their private lives.
All that being said, a person who has a great relationship with their spouse has a much higher chance of having great relationships at work. They understand the give and take in decision-making. They respect others’ decisions despite not always agreeing. They know when to lead and when to follow, everything you need in business. A true leader is not leading at all times; often, he is following, listening, and learning from others who have experience and expertise.
“He comes from a good family” is not always about wealth. Good parenting means setting norms for how relationships should be. A father who shows respect and love to a mother shows a son how it should look; it sets the norm. It is not a guarantee that a child will find that, but it sets a goal. They want to be as happy as their parents were.
Again, all of it translates to work. They know what happiness and success feel like, and they take the skills of personal relationships and bring them into professional relationships. This is because professional relationships require much of the same thing: trust, communication, and negotiation.
