Short Rules at Sedo’s Great Domains Auction: 18 Domains Have Hit Reserve

Dec 08 2015

Size matters! Shorter is better in this case, and short domains rule again at this month’s Great Domains auction at Sedo. And why not, that’s where the most action is these days. Of the 18 domains that have hit reserve, only one has more than four characters, and that one is at $109 in bidding as I type this. The others? Predominantly three and four letter .com domains, with one .net and one .org thrown in for good measure. In total, over $115,000 in domains have hit reserve, and you should expect that figure to move significantly higher as Thursday’s auction end approaches.

Reserve Met

In order of their current bidding levels: – This one has some room to run, as it’s still under $50,000 USD. – “Bureau of Motor Vehicles” in some states; over 130,000 searches per month, per Estibot. – The ‘cheap’ of the bunch, at around 21,000 EUR. – The highest priced so far, with bidding at $4,600. – have skyrocketed, with this one currently at $3,600 – The lone .org, at 805 EUR. – The lowest price with reserve met, at around $400. – The long (7 characters!) .info is bringing up the rear of the domains which have hit reserve, currently at $109.

Other Notable Domains – Bidding is currently at $21,500, at the upper end of the reserve range of $10,000 – $24,999.

You can find the entire auction listing and current prices here, and bidding ends this Thursday. Best of luck to all buyers and sellers.
