I’ll come out and say it. Aaron and I would love to have any new gTLD advertise on our blog. We will promote anyone that pays us to do so. Stories about how many you’ve sold, what stage of release you’re at, and in general, tell the world how awesome you are. In all seriousness, there are a few of the new gTLDs that I do like. Half of the reason I like them is not as much what gTLD it is but rather the people behind them. We have had one or two approach us but I just couldn’t advise the few readers we have here to buy something they have zero chance of making money on in the near future. But we do believe in a few of them. And yes, dot club is one of them. And we aren’t being paid a cent to say it. I just think the backers are willing to market the heck out of the name and that’s half the battle. Even if the money isn’t being spent with Aaron and I. Here are today’s names. LAST DAY….. .club has great potential. Yesterday I was reading the news about box.com launching box.org to cater to nonprofit organizations. I see it as a trend, where companies use different extensions to target different audience. In this sense, .club is a great extension. Every consumer product/service company can set up a loyalty club for their customers using .club. For example, nike.club pairing with free email addresses such as [email protected]. With their aggressive marketing, .club can become a top extension over time. However, this will probably not translate into any significant opportunities for domain investors.
