Domain Spotlight:

Listed below are updates on the top ten domain sales from a year ago, as ranked by DN Journal.

1. TP.com sold for $929,000

No site resolves, and Whois shows the domain is controlled by domain financing company Domain Capital. Despite the lack of a site, it’s still the traffic leader for the week, with an Alexa rank near 1.3 million.

2. Clash.com sold for $250,000

A simple coming soon lander is live, and the domain is under privacy protection.

3. Lawn.com sold for $240,000

The domain is surprisingly lightly developed (albeit better than the two domains listed above) with a website title of “Atlanta Lawn Care Services”, and they say they’ll do lawns up to 45 miles away from Atlanta. The domain is under privacy protection, but my guess on the buyer is New Beginning Professionals, LLC, as the phone numbers on the two sites match. “Bring out your lawn’s full potential with New Beginning Professionals LLC., a fully licensed and insured lawn care company in Snellville, Georgia.”

* Update: NamePros did a nice interview with the buyers of the domain.

4. TotalCare.com sold for $120,000

The owner is a company based in China, and a translation of the simple lander includes a description of “your health management expert”.

TotalCare
5. Youi.com sold for $100,000

The domain was an upgrade from Youi.com.au, which is where the .com is redirected. They’re an Australia-based insurance company.

Youi
6. C.gl sold for $85,000

Domain is parked, and Whois shows the owner is based in Lebanon.

7. OLED.com sold for $56,100

The buyer was Universal Display Corp, and we discussed previously that the domain was a big upgrade from UDCOLED.com. They describe themselves as a company that “is lighting up the OLED revolution with its proprietary OLED technologies and phosphorescent materials. The Company is a world-class IP innovator, technology developer, patent licensor and materials supplier for the rapidly growing OLED markets.” The company is publicly traded with a market cap near $3.8 billion, which is up from near $2.1 billion when we wrote the article on them a year ago. (A $1.7 billion increase in market cap due to the domain, of course! 🙂 )
