I was sitting down going over some finances and realized I hadn’t bought or sold one domain in the last two weeks. Not one. It’s not that I haven’t been active in domain investing. I’ve consciously been trying to bring up the bank account to buy a bigger name so I’ve been a lot more careful in what I am buying. I’ve also been quoting high on my domain inquiries. I pretty much do this day after day. Look at the list, put in my bids, answer inquiries with prices. But I haven’t gotten any of the names with my bids and nobody responds to my quotes and the next day comes. To make a living at this I would need to be much more aggressive. But because I have domain income coming in from this site and my other sites, I don’t really have to. Long term I couldn’t make a living but short term I can go a few months without any sales. But that’s if I had to pay the bills doing this. I am fortunate I have a business to pay the bills and domain investment is “extra” income that gets rolled over. But right now nothing is rolling over but me in my bed in the morning trying to come up with a reason not to get up and run. Hopefully that changes in June. Here are today’s names. Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
Great intro paragraph today. Glad I decided to read this even though I missed most of the auctions already.
I DO rely on domain sales to pay bills and the past 4 weeks have been brutal for me. I have to consider lowering prices and just liquidating what I can just to make it to the next few big sales.
I think I sold too much good inventory back in Jan and Feb without replenishing my inventory.
I don’t know – all I know is April has been a 1 way street as far as my domain funds go.
Gotta work on my side hustles for months like these.
Bobby,
You have to have inventory to sell. It’s the basics of business. You sell a service or product at a profit in order to pay the bills. Can’t sell from an empty cart or a cart full of junk. I hope things get going for you soon.
