Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday, June 13th, 2022

Crypto and the Stock market are not going to open well today (wrote last night and now see ETH down 14%). This is not good for domains. In fact, I look for a big drop in domain sales. It’s going to be a hold on summer and fall IMO and you’ll need to budget wisely. I could be wrong and it’s not for doom and gloom. I only say it because I represent every business owner in America. Sales are good. No issues there. Its the cost. Payroll is through the roof. Costs are now so high its getting tough to make prices much higher. I will have to lay some non essential workers off. Workers that were getting me ahead but what good does ahead mean if your costs are more than your revenue. I am fortunate at the nursery in that I produce my own product. My margins are as good as they can get. I get margins of 90% on my plants. That all being said, the payroll for the same staff I had last year is up 30%. Shipping 100%. Pots, fertilizer etc 20% plus. I look at things compared to last year and its unsustainable. I can’t keep writing my prices on a whiteboard because the change so much. We companies and future companies are the ones buying domains. Nobody is going to want to start something in this environment.

Will it get better? 100%. It always does. There will still be sales. I think people still have a ton of money to spend. The issue will be how much is that money worth. I like many, spent a ton of money because I felt that my dollar wouldn’t go as far later. I was right but I’m also part of the problems. Everyone was spending money like its water and money was literally being handed out. Time to pay the piper and we’re all going to pay. Again, as I write this it sounds so negative. I actually get excited. One because I am pretty liquid and have a lot of powder to buy some things when people get desperate. Two, those who play all this correctly are going to come out of this rich. Volatility is a huge opportunity. Even if the volatility is on the way to zero.

Domain of the Day: YipYap.com Top number of bids on the board for a non backlink name. Definitely memorable

Quote of the Day: “Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.” — Henry David Thoreau

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
