The season is winding down for vegetables and houseplants being outside here in Illinois. We’re getting down to 25 and that will kill my tomatoes and peppers. My hot honey has been a big hit but my pepper plants are about to be done outside. Yes I am going to move them into greenhouses but I just don’t know how they will produce inside. So yesterday I started drying bags of Carolina Reaper so I could use them all winter.
Needless to say working with Reapers can be a little touchy. Or not too touchy. I was constantly washing my hands to be careful. At the same time I was making another 50lbs of my hot honey since I was already in pepper mode. It went well except for 3 things. 1. When I cleaned off the pot at the end it seem to send pepper residue right in my face. Like I had been pepper sprayed for storming the Capital. 2. I knew the drying peppers were going to make a strong pepper smell so I put the dehydrator in the garage. It was way worse than that. You could barely walk into the garage. It was horrible. To the point I had to put it outside on the patio. 3. I thought I had washed my hands well but evidently not. I went to use the restroom and 5 minutes later my dick was on fire. Had to dip it in milk to make it go away. Nothing else seemed to work and that was my last resort. The problem was finding a 10″ vase to put it in.
I made it through but it was a touch and go day. Actually too much touching when I goed
