Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday, July 10th, 2023

I drove my Bronco from Colorado to IL and we drove our Subaru from Colorado to New Jersey. It took less gas to get the Subaru to NJ than it did my Bronco to IL. I got 16.4 MPG in the Bronco and the Subaru 34 mpg. Double. Why would you drive the Bronco, especially if you had another car? My daughter came from college and stayed with us. We also have had a kid the drives for a number of years. If we didn’t have two cars we would have never had a car. Add to it that Colorado was made for the Bronco. I went 4 wheeling and saw places I never would have seen without it. One I wouldn’t have seen it because I wouldn’t have had a car to even get there. Two, some of the roads crossed deep streams and had big holes in the road. On one road I literally had to crawl over a boulder because it had fallen in the road and no going around it without riding the ledge of a 1000-foot drop-off. Over was better but I have to admit I’ve never had one side of my car up two feet off the ground. Crazy how easy it crawled the rock. On the other side was a trail to an abandoned city from the late 1800s and an abandoned train tunnel and a city on a lake. Incredibly cool and without the Bronco I hike an extra 5 miles to get to it.

The cost of gas was about $3.20 a gallon. I paid as low at $3 and as high as $3.90 depending on where we were. Compared to the price of renting a car for 6 weeks, the hassles of flying, and the ability to bring a lot of stuff, driving was the easy and smart choice. Both cars for the entire trip was $700 in gas. Not bad for 6 weeks of driving to trails and driving half way across the country. Down side is my Bronco hit 8000 miles but its coming up on 2 years old so I think we’re still under the annual mileage of a car. Next trip is beach and Bronco stays home. It’s not getting me any closer to the water
