This is the time of year I really like. While I do love football, to me, it marks the start of fall and cooler weather. I normally escape to high elevations to get the temps and beauty of fall, but now they’re here in the Midwest. Living on a college campus we go from a quaint little town to adding 56,000 students and all the support staff that comes with it. Essentially doubling the number of people in town. Football games on weekends add another 50K and essentially turn 5 square miles of town into a no-go zone unless you want to wait in line for everything. Fortunately, my running partner is the team doctor for the team so I get parking passes and good seats so I can get in and out.
I think Texas and Florida need another month to get into the cooler temps. I know September in California is the last month of summer and great beach weather. I imagine northern Florida is similar and of course, southern Florida is always pretty nice. I will admit I’ll really miss working at the nursery in the fall. It’s a great time of year because it’s tree selling time and the great weather has everyone coming back to buy things. Plants don’t mind being planted in any weather but people prefer to plant when it’s cooler. Fall is also the time when the profits start coming in. Things are generally paid for so the sales start going to be bottom line.
As for domains, it also seems to be the time when sales start to pick up. I actually had a good August with a few sales and I have some leads for September as well. The economy seems to be a little more resilient than I thought and it seems that new companies are still picking up and upgrading names despite the slowing of startup and vc money. We also picked up a new advertiser here on the site. We’ll introduce them soon. It’s looking like I’m going to make it through my first year of retirement without going crazy or broke. I’m not rolling in the crypto money of the past but I held on to some of it so not all bad. In summary, I am really looking forward to the next 3 months. My first fall to take it all in. Does anyone else feel the same about the fall?

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
Fall is my favorite season. Add in college football and I could do it all year long.
