I wrote this the other day on Twitter
Opportunity.
It’s all you can ask for.
Nobody owes you anything.
The biggest gift you can be given is a chance.
A man gave me a million dollars to be a trader when I was 24 years old.
My Father let me be his partner and build a nursery and let me make mistakes along the way.
Kate Buckley gave me an opportunity to join Buckley Media
I will never forget those who gave me an opportunity to learn, grow, make great decisions, and make bad ones and learn from them.
Don’t forget to do the same for others.
Not everyone will work out. But those that do will have a multiplying effect on both of your successes
Because so many people have given me a chance I have given others the same chance. Something I didn’t say on Twitter is that every time I have given someone a chance who has a criminal background it has ended horribly. I mean horribly. All 5 cases were bad, some still haunt me.
I had a young man who had been abused and in return had done something to another kid when he was 6. So he was raised in a special school for troubled kids. When he applied I found this out in his background check but he was 22 and perfectly clean record. He was our best salesperson. For 5 years he was kind and a model employee. I thought I had done well. One day he met a woman online and after a year he left the nursery and went to live with her and her kids out west. Happy story, everyone is happy. 2 years later his wife called and said that he had done something bad to all her kids. I won’t put the words here but you get the point. Life in prison. It was the last time I vomited. I hit me so hard
I did the same for another young woman out of foster care and she too was great. Except she was leaving her kid at home all day with no supervision while she came to work. He was under a year old. He died one of those days.
So I wrote that on Twitter because I have to remind myself to continue to give opportunities to those that others haven’t. At the same time spend a lot of time deciding WHO to give them to. It’s a gift and should not be handed out like Halloween candy. I have the mental scars to prove it. I also have amazing stories to counterbalance the awful ones above. It’s part of being old and building something that allows you the ability to give opportunity.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details. All names were chosen by us, Shane, Travis, and/or Josh . Everything we say is based on our research or is opinion. Do your due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, registrars, and individuals that are auctioning names. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
Great postong. Life is strange. And wonderful.
