I wanted to take the time to share my end of year thoughts and new year’s plans. One of the more difficult points in life is the middle life. There is a reason they have a term called Mid Life crisis. You reach this point in life where you have busted ass for 25-30 years trying to build a business, raise a family, and grow your relationship with your partner. Most don’t get through all successfully.
Getting through your 50s with the same wife, one company, and great relationships with your kids is becoming rare. Heck, half my friends have girlfriends 10 years older than my daughter. Struggling like me but have lost the base that took along for this ride called life. One major thing got me through all this….domains.
Domain investing was a side investment which led to an income and profit source. It led me to a new group of friends and forward-thinking people and allowed me to “think differently”. It challenged my mind beyond running a large business. It allowed me to throw all my capital from my main business back in to that business and not have to take any out to have special things. It helped me and my business to grow to maturity in a shorter amount of time. It allowed me to travel the world, led me to blockchain, and have a life I would not had, had I not found it.
All that being said there is this point of life all will most likely have. What now? You’ve accomplished everything you dreamed. You have the money you hoped to have. You don’t HAVE to do anything. So what do you do?
It took me two years of meandering, wondering, exploring and traveling to get to a point where I was ready to “work” again. Even then I didn’t know what work looked like. What I do know is my wife is still my best friend and whatever it is I get to do it with her and my daughter. I know I am a good boss, a good friend, a good Dad, and a good husband. I probably could not have said that along the way. It took decades to be able to say that, see that, and be that.
I have zero regrets of any decision I have made. The decisions I have made have gotten me here and I love here. I don’t know what tomorrow will look like but I know it will include this. I will use plants, domains, and blockchain to build my business future. I will connect more with everyone who is reading this to have great conversations. Conversations of humor, learning, experiences, and brainstorming. Conversations that will leave both us smiling, pondering, and a feeling of excitement of what’s out there.
