The last few days, I’ve been reading stories about government workers losing their jobs. Some said, “I didn’t even get notice,” or “I only get eight weeks of severance.” Welcome to what the rest of the US has to deal with.
Most of America still lives paycheck to paycheck, and the fear of losing a job is a daily reality. Many Americans dream of getting a government job. Why? Because it’s one of the highest paying/least amount of work jobs you can get (teaching not included). It’s one of the last jobs in the U.S. that still offers a pension and continues paying you long after you’ve stopped contributing. You essentially never have to worry about losing your job because of unions. At the university near us, it was known that you had to commit an actual crime to be laid off. Anything else resulted in paid leave or being moved to another position.
Normal employers have to build their businesses, create divisions, and deliver results just to make payroll. Ninety-nine percent of American companies aren’t Microsoft or Amazon. They’re small businesses hiring 10 to 40 people, making critical decisions every day to keep employees paid and provide raises.
So, while I feel for anyone who loses their job, I also know that anyone with a government job would find the private sector much tougher. Some will say public jobs are the perfect example of the problem. I’d say, look at the USPS for a perfect example. Amazon is eating their lunch. Amazon get packages to me in a day, while I sent five bottles of honey to Miami from central Illinois via USPS, and five days later, it’s still in Chicago—just three hours north of me, instead of heading south. Government-run sectors are a mess.
I don’t like the way Elon is burning everything down instead of just pausing and restructuring, but my guess is it’s a disaster, and it’s easier to tear it all down and rebuild.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
