Domain Spotlight:

Shane’s List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday, September 17th, 2025

We recorded a new Domain Sherpa yesterday and it’s one of the best discussions we’ve had in a while on domain investing. It’s a high-level look at money management with Drew breaking down where to put capital.

For me it always comes back to the keyword. That’s what companies brand on—their name. After that, all pricing ties back to .com. Every extension trades as a percentage of its .com value. The percentage changes over time: .ai has jumped sharply in the last year, .xyz has moved up and down but is currently strong, and .io looked dead in the spring but has bounced back. Obscure endings are only a sliver of .com prices but still carry value if the keyword is right. I keep those percentages in mind to avoid overpaying.

Knowing the real .com price is where experience counts. I know wholesale prices cold and have a good handle on retail. Drew and Josh Reason think the same way even if they don’t put exact percentages on every TLD. One key data point we covered: what the .com or major TLD is listed for, or if it’s even listed. If you buy a .ai for $1,000 and the .com is priced at $3,500, odds are you overpaid. If the .com is owned by a major company you’ve removed the main competitor, which changes the math.

We go deep on this Thursday on Domain Sherpa. Don’t miss it.

Domain of the Day:Punch.me Perfect use of the .me extension. Call to action and being a dot me, the punch shouldn’t hurt too bad
