Well, this is it. The last day of the year. Hoping it went well, and whatever went poorly was a good lesson or a one time thing. The only thing that worries me is how fast it went. As an older guy, time is not on my side, and I want to take in every day. I do not know that I did that.
I have two completely opposite feelings about the year. Things that happened in spring feel like years ago, and at the same time it feels like the year just started. It is impossible to feel both of those because they contradict each other, but somehow they do.
I was fortunate enough to go to many places and do a lot of fun things. I have turned ADD when it comes to location. I am good for about a month and then I want to see something else. Leadville is one of the few places I miss within a week of leaving. The altitude and training I do there take a lot out of me, and my wife is not completely at home there, so I find myself ready to go home. Only to get home, enjoy it for a few weeks, and then be ready to go back. Summers there are nothing short of perfection for me. Winters, as a non skier, are stunningly beautiful, but until my wife retires, it is not as fun going snowshoeing or alpine skiing alone.
I am as excited for 2026 as I have been for any year. I have some great plans and high goals. I know you can reset any time, but today is such an easy day to start goals and routines, and I plan on it. I did not set the goal, but I ran 52 half marathons in 2025, which shows I stayed healthy this year. I was also able to run 2,300 miles. In 2026, I want to run 250K feet of vertical gain. The most I have done is 80K. I think I can get there because I am going to concentrate on running hills this year. I am terrible at it now, but I will get there. I also have another goal of doing $500K in revenue in domains. I have done that before but missed it the last few years. I want to get back there. I hope you are excited as well for your 2026 goals.
As always, Travis and I appreciate you reading this list every day. The auction houses below, and you, are what keep the lights on. Sixteen years of being here every day takes all of the above. We never take it for granted and truly appreciate all the great emails you have sent us this year. The sponsorship pays the bills, but the kind words keep us motivated and thankful.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

Happy New Year Shane, Travis & the DSAD crew! Best wishes for a great 2026!
