I’m fortunate to know people at every level of wealth. My circle has ranged from a mechanic, to a phone line worker, to doctors, to billionaires in food and car parts.
I’ve learned lessons from all of them, but the biggest one is this: the real benefit of money is better travel.
The toys and houses peak out. You drive the cars a few days a year. The houses you could just rent for a month and have a different one every year. There’s no real need to own multiple vacation homes and stretch your budget anymore.
But if you have real money, you can travel when you want and how you want.
At the top, you have a jet. Your dog, your family, and you hop on whenever you want and skip the airport headaches. A level down, you share a jet or live on points. Below that, you fly business or first class everywhere, and the experience is night and day compared to the back of the plane.
Anyone who says that’s a waste of money usually just doesn’t have enough money. If you truly had better things to do with it, you would already be doing them. Every billionaire I know can’t find “better” uses for their money. What they want to do is the best use, because there’s plenty more behind it.
So what’s the magic number?
I think $50 million gets you everything you want. You can live like a king at $10M if you do it right, but you don’t get the jet. Even at $50M, you probably don’t own a jet unless it’s small and has no bathroom. You’re better off sharing expenses with a few local people if you can find the right setup.
I know this comes across as privileged and unimaginable to some, but I truly believe anything is possible. Any level of wealth. Especially if you’re a builder, in tech, or you invest early. It’s surprising what can happen over time.
I don’t dream about owning a jet or flying first everywhere. I work hard, and when I can afford it or when it makes sense, I do it. It’s a goal, not a fantasy.
A goal that will take a lot of domain sales to get there, so I’m adjusting my investments to speed things up 🙂

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
