Shane’s List of Domains at Auction for Friday, March 13th, 2026

We get another Friday the 13th today. First time I remember having back to back months that had them. So if anyone needs me to buy a lottery ticket for them, let me know.

Plain and simple, if registrars want power users to use their platforms they will have to offer an API. The future is not manual, especially when you’re talking about thousands of domains. You just cannot go through them one by one and change things. As much as interfaces have improved, it is still not even close to the ease of managing everything through APIs.

It used to be harder, but now even the average person can run a home terminal and manage their domains. Next year I believe every domain investor with more than a few hundred domains will be using APIs in some capacity. GoDaddy is the furthest behind. They literally removed API access from most accounts while others like Dynadot and Unstoppable are working daily to improve theirs.

Dynadot’s API is fantastic and they actively encourage users to try it. They do a good job throttling overuse while still giving you enough calls to make sure you can do what you need. Things are changing quickly. Productivity is increasing daily. It is a scary and exciting time, and our interactions on the web will look different in many ways.

And no, I do not think this is the end for domains. Domains are a company or entity’s identity. If you buy a shirt through a chatbot or agent, you still want it from Nike or Lululemon. You need an identifier. There will also still be a high percentage of people who visit consumer facing storefronts directly. Both will exist, and companies better be preparing for that.

Quote of the Day: “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.” — Charles Darwin

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
