Shane’s List of Domains at Auction for Friday, April 3rd, 2026

29 Days until the ICANN New GTLD window opens. Going to be fun to see what new TLDs will be applied for and who is applying. Even more entertaining will be the bidding for the most popular TLDs. I think everyone is going to be very surprised who the winners are. I don’t think they will be the usual suspects. The days of only domain-related companies and people participating are over. There is going to be a ton of VC capital coming into the mix. Everyone is hoping to hit the lottery with the hottest new TLD.

Just in the last year .wallet has lost a ton of value, where .agent may be one of the top new TLDs. A TLD not even thought of a few years ago when the process started. Things move quickly in the tech world. As I stated in a previous opening, I also think we see new appropriation for older country codes and generics in the attempt to remarket them to a new category.

Also on the negative side, I don’t see much use for crypto and nft communities anymore. That market has fizzled to only maxis and there aren’t enough maxis to make a business model. I could be wrong but all our questions will soon be answered in a matter of months

Domain of the Day: Radler.com One of the best summer drinks ever created
