I have listened to people tell me the moon landing wasn’t real, 9/11 was a government plan, and the world is becoming a worse place every day. With all the passion and confidence of someone who is 100% sure they are correct.
All I ever get out of those conversations is how grateful I am that I’m not battling my own mind every day. Good decisions based on facts are hard enough. Some people can’t even get past basic truths. They’re challenging everything, all day, every day. Turning routine and choices into deep dives.
Worry and anxiety can be killers of life and happiness. It’s healthy to worry, feel anxious, or get excited from time to time. You should question things. Those emotions push us to solve problems and move forward. The people above haven’t solved anything. They’ve created worries that don’t exist. They spend time on things they can’t control instead of focusing on the things they actually can.
Any time spent trying to convince others you’re right is time that could have been spent moving forward, getting better, and making the people around you better.
It’s nonsense. It doesn’t change the future, and it’s a waste of mental energy.
Do I like government and politicians? Not really. Do I think they’re out to get us? Not really. Do I think governments have covered things up in the past? Absolutely. Do I think they still try to cover things up today? Sure, but it’s getting harder every day. Do I think the world is worse off? Depends on who you ask and what you are talking about specifically. In general, things are much better every generation
Maybe it’s not how my brain works. So many problems to solve, things to do. Trying to “fix” history is not on my list. That’s why they call it history. It’s over and in the past. It’s ironic that the same people who are trying to rewrite history also very confidently tell you what the future is going to be. Often very specific. Which with technology and politics is another very difficult thing to get right. Opinions sure. We all have them. Knowing for sure what it is is another story.
And this not about any one person. The crazy part is DOZENS of people have told me about conspiracies they believe in. I’ve listened to all of them all the way through. Still friends, but put them in my crazy friends group 😂
