I’ve been a little hard on Sedo the last few years and I’m going to continue the trend today. It really is tough love. They are (or maybe were) one of the premier domain auction houses in the world. But every month that goes by they are losing market share. And their recent numeric auction is a perfect example. They gathered a decent portfolio of domain names but nobody had the confidence in Sedo to set lower reserves. Compare the results of Sedo’s domain auction Here to the results of 4.cns recent numeric auction. One brings crickets and the other brings in $500K plus. Sedo had zero chance of selling any of the NNN.coms with the reserves that were set. A few of the NNNN.coms got some good prices and the rest were names that could be found on Godaddy or Namejet on a daily basis. If they wanted to have some sales they should have loaded it with NNNN.com and NNN and NNNN.nets. I know easier said than done but a simple email to everyone that has a numeric listed on their platform and a few thousand dollars in advertising on Domaining.com and they could have pulled it off. But they have lost the confidence to invest in themselves and sellers have lost the confidence to sell names at their auctions. It’s going to take time to build it back but it can be done. And I will be rooting for them. They are what got many of us into domaining and gave us an opportunity to make money parking, selling, and buying names. Here are today’s names.

Hurka.com No bidders. I liked it as a 5L.com but is also a sausage and a last name according to Google.
OLMB.com I think everyone was sleeping this week. Not many bidders on this one either
The100.com I like it because its very memorable. I thought I could have it for $12. A few bidders have ended that dream

” SiteKing.com is perfect for every single Flippa user” You start off your auction with this statement and lose me immediately. How in the world could one name be perfect for every Flippa user? And then end it with “You will not see an opportunity like this one everyday to secure a Premium, Aged, Easy to remember, Brandable domain for your company” I am being a bit harsh but I just hate when people put descriptions on their domain that are just over the top and untrue. None of that was needed. Telling people what to use the name from limits its use, not expands it. Let the buyer decide why it’s perfect for him. You don’t have to tell him. They want stats and info, not emotion. Just my opinion of course. And don’t be mad about my comment, it only gets more people to your domain to see why I disliked the description.
Shane, Thanks for your Feedback. Flippa is a Marketplace for Websites (Originally) and the big part of their sales and activity is in the Website division. I assume that at least 95% of Flippa users if not more are running websites so my initial thought when I decided to start with this domain at (No Reserve) it’s because its appeal to almost every Flippa users.
