1. CurrencyConverter.com sold for $150,000
The domain is under privacy protection and parked; however, it’s still the traffic leader for the week, with its Alexa rank near 4.8 million. At least some of the traffic is due to the crazy search volume — 6.2 million searches per month, according to Estibot.
2. VVV.com sold for $136,400
This was a sale from Media Options through NameJet, and the current owner is an individual in China. The domain doesn’t resolve.
3. EscapeArtists.com sold for $60,000
The domain is an upgrade from EscapeArtistsEnt.com, and the site has an Alexa rank near 16 million. “Escape Artists is an independently financed motion picture and television company with a first-look non-exclusive deal at Sony Pictures Entertainment.”
4. BuyMyHouse.com sold for $45,000
No site resolves, and the domain is owned by a Kristi Soener of Omaha, Nebraska. She appears to be domainer, as she owns 500+ other domains with no clear theme, such as TextAnimations.com and SausagePeeler.com.
5. MissCandy.com sold for $30,000
The domain is owned by an individual in China, and the site is predominantly in Chinese, with some English translations. “Miss Candy is a nail polish brand which is full of love.”
6. VisitDubai.ae sold for $29,800
This domain forwards to the .com, and it’s run by the Dubai Corporation of Tourism & Commerce Marketing. “Welcome to the official Dubai Tourism page. From iconic structures and clear beaches to world-famous restaurants – Dubai is home to a host of unique experiences. Join us as we help you discover the spirit of the city through travel tips, giveaways and information for an exciting trip to Dubai.“
7. MakeItPop.com sold for $25,000
The domain was picked up by DHX Media, which produces the Make It Pop TV show on Nickelodeon. “What do an aspiring pop diva, a fashionista and a book worm have in common? Music! Co-created by Nick Cannon and Tom Lynch, Make It Pop is the brand new tween series following best friends and roommates, Sun Hi, Jodi and Corki who bond over their love for music, fashion and stardom to form their own band, XO-IQ.” Alexa rank near 15 million.
8. JUR.com sold for $16,055
The domain is parked and owned by domainer Daniel Mischler.
9. TakeTheChance.com sold for $15,000
This acquisition was an upgrade from the .at extension, and is a dating site. “takethechance is an online platform that gives you the perfect chance to find the love of your live, people to have fun with or new friends.” Alexa rank near 14 million.
10. RXL.com sold for $13,312
One of those “Reported Attack Page!” warnings resolves for me. Owned by an individual in China.
