I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Lonnie Borck yesterday. When I think of Lonnie I think of him and Josh talking this past January at Namescon. They talked for hours about being paramedics. They had never met before yet they lived and worked close enough to each other that they knew many of the same people. You could hear in their voices that they loved their job. Josh does it for a living. Lonnie did it completely as a volunteer. But they shared something special and you could hear it in the conversation. The passion for helping others. It was one of my most memorable moments at the conference last year. I didn’t know Lonnie as well as most in this industry, but by merely sitting next to him for 3 or 4 hours I found out exactly what kind of man he was. A great one.
