I saw some great advice in an email newsletter from DN Academy a few weeks ago.
“Buy domain names that businesses want.”
Print that out and post it over your domain work space.
Under that write: “Be patient.”
There’s alot of temptation to buy names that are keywords with a little bit of search volume, obscure English words, names with “traffic” and so on, but if you see the above every time you’re tempted to buy something bad, I think it will help.
I seriously think it’s a great idea as a last minute caution. I buy names all the time, or even renew names that I shouldn’t. I’ll say to myself “but that still has some value, it has search volume” In reality no one will ever buy this type of name. Well never is a strong word, but we need to plan for normal buyers and not hope for crazy people to stumble across are crap domains.
