Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday August 10th

Aug 10 2017

Remember when I told you that a major company was going to start offering Private Auctions?  Well that day is here.  Well, its almost here.  Its in beta and its going to disrupt the current auction market.  It’s like South Korea and their technology.  It was built after everyone else’s so it’s better.  The backend is brand new and makes putting up names easy peasy. Anyone can put up a name for sale within minutes.  You simply enter your domain, auth code, and reserve (or let it go no reserve) and everything is automatic.  The system checks to make sure you aren’t putting up a locked name and also guarantees that the name will get transferred.  What if I transfer out before the auction gets finished?  The auth code will be pinged regularly and if you move it the auction will be halted.  It’s simple, and it works.  I am testing it today to see how it works.

So who is doing this that is a “big player”?   DropCatch.     I put up for auction last night just to get a feel of the system.  Took less than a minute to put up. There really shouldn’t be much to putting up a name at auction and there wasn’t.   I see a few things that can be added like a choice of exactly what hour to end the auction but those will be added in due time.  There are a few other cool add ons coming down the road that I think will put some excitement in to the auctions as well but I’ll talk about that at a later date.  Of course I’ll announce when its out of beta and open for everyone.  And it will be open for everyone.

This doesn’t mean that Godaddy, Sedo,  and Namejet are any less valuable to our industry. They all do a good job. Now they will have to do even better.    Congrats to the Reberry brothers on adding another great option to the industry . Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Quote of the Day:   “Creativity is intelligence having fun”  -Albert Einstein

Domain of the Day:  1999 domain.  You’ll have the optimum life if you take this product.

Namejet Names at Auction    Cubs fan or just an acronym   So many uses for this one.     A lot of bidders agree     Put in a bid at every place.  This beaut is a pending delete means its going to get at least $2500  One of the better for a western acronym   This one too.  Might like it even better   All about sustainable, organic products  Might be the bargain of the day.  More likely to see a VR company use this name than a name with VR in it

Sedo Names at Auction   O for Of and L for love it    CVCV with a reserve under $5K   Owner was smart sending it to auction from a bid.  Went higher

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids    Prime domain name.  Not sure research companies pay for domain names   Getting a lot of bids.   Already above a normal    1999 domain.  22 bidders and I’m not sure why.   Does get some traffic too   Sounds like a place you’re going to overpay to take your kids to it   Taking paleo to a whole new level.  Welcome to the Jungle Baby.  12 bidders   Nice 5L for under   Sounds like the technology behind the mapping app   I’m a seller on these types of names. But all the bidders aren’t   Means “fry” in Zulu    Double letters or numbers always get bids     Yow tee or You tee   I guess you could say its pronounceable   600,000 backlinks are drawing the big price

Domains That I Like With One or No Bids with age (1998) but no bids At the top of the news lately. And a movement right now with shirts and bumper stickers Sounds like an 80s punk bad Its a track we all want to get on. Or maybe the fast one too An actual plant from Florida but I think it makes a great brand The plight of the honey bee is all over the news. The nursery industry has seen a surge in bee loving plants. My wife plays this game at night some times. You could steam lobster in the bed I didn’t realize this was a real thing. Spent too long reading the wikipedia page Because we’ve moved on from T shirts to O shirts Only have to put out content once a week Sounds like a place to get cheap logo Tesla is investing in power in Australia Sounds kind of techy to me Easy logo, easy to remember Beauty product or rapper save the whales

Nothing says market leader like Overstock. BTC is great but its too anonymous and unregulated to be used as real currency. You got one guy moving your markets right now. Spoofy owns you
