Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday July 20th , 2018

Jul 20 2018

Not since the days of the Chinese domain invasion have I seen this many names with a bid at auction.  There were more than 300 names with bids today on the Godaddy board.  Over 200 with 2 or more bids.  I wouldn’t want to own most of the names but bidders have their reason. Who am I to judge or figure out why?  Actually I do try and figure out why but I really think many of the second bids are merely a program set to jump on names that already have one bid.

On another note. The Reberry Brothers have hit another home run with the catch of the expired name  Bidding is already over $35,000 and will end up being way more.  Money directly in their pockets.  They pretty much own the drop market right now and  I would guess only Godaddy is making more on expired names than them.  I haven’t done the math but I would imagine their  drop auctions are covering the registrar costs each year.  They seem to get quite a few of these names that go for $20K every month or so. Combine it with the hundreds/thousands of other names that go for $100 to $500, the names people are using to catch their own that don’t go to auction, and the other names that fill the NameBright portfolio and I think we have a strong business model .   Here are today’s names Click through to see the current price
