Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Sunday December 15th, 2019

Escrow.com

There are a few problems going around lately so I thought I would throw in my two cents.

  1. It was nice to have Godaddy put reserves with the domain names in the NamesCon auction. Its something I asked for and others agreed it would be helpful. But we have another problem. Communication with people that submitted names. A lot of people haven’t heard from Right of the Dot or Godaddy only to find their names listed in the auction and available to bid. If they have enough time to get it listed in the auction then they have time to email the customers. Right of the dot puts on a great auction year after year but the sellers experience is just as important as the buyers.
  2. Namejet is having trouble delivering names won through auctions the last few weeks. The problem comes down to one seller. Plain and simple the names are being delivered slowly and taking much longer than expected. They are starting to come through and should be filled soon but its still been a pain in the ass for everyone. The seller is no excuse, It’s still on Namejet. For years I’ve talked about the antiquated back end. There’s really no reason not to code in a program than takes the sellers auth code and constantly check to see if its good and ready to go. If it is ever bad the auction stops. That would make sure sellers would deliver because it would automatically transfer as soon as a reserve is hit. Right now its still being done manually. And now they are getting burned. We’re all getting burned. This isn’t on JT, on Mike or anyone but dot Web. A dot Web that is a major sponsor here and one of the main reasons we are able to exist. We love Namejet and the industry NEEDS Namejet. But its time to invest in the infrastructure and make a new backend that allows easy submissions and easy, secure, and guaranteed transfer.

  1. “Namejet is having trouble delivering names won through auctions the last few weeks”. I finally received my LLLL.coms this week…over 4 weeks late!

How about sellers that place names into Namejet auction and then disappears?
I won Xcites.com 11/3/19 and seller still missing. How can you trust the Namejet platform? How can you trust this seller ever again?

Namejet, please get ypour sh*t together.

    1. Paul,

I can’t speak for Namejet, I am sponsored by them to promote their auction platform, but like Godaddy back when a good percentage of names weren’t being delivered, they will get this under control. Having one seller bottleneck the platform says some back end problems need to be addressed. They know it and all the bitching in the world isn’t going to make it go faster. As for your bad seller. It happens and I hope they’re off the platform.

  2. I have names that I won at auction from mid November that still haven’t hit my account. It’s a joke. Every day they drag their feet is another day that someone can potentially buy the name.
