I have been using Escrow.com since I started in domain investing. At the time they were the only choice. They were nice enough to advertise on this blog as you can see above, and have for 10 years. Like Elliot on DomainInvesting said, they are one of the reasons I am able to keep writing. But they are also one of the reasons I can sell my names. It gives the buyers a sense of security and trust. Some may say that if they weren’t around someone else would be. Maybe, maybe not. Imagine what it would be without Escrow.com in our industry? When the other Escrow’s came out like EscrowHill I passed on taking their advertising money. I did it because Escrow was there before they came and I knew they would be after they folded. How did I know they wouldn’t last? They weren’t even licensed to practice in Texas and California. I needed California to be part of the places I can buy and sell names. They figured it out but eventually merged, ended, or something. But they aren’t here. Other bloggers took the money under the premise of “I can’t choose teams because this is how I make a living” I just had trouble putting competition ads agains a company that gave me this chance to write. I am loyal to that. Brandon Abbey was the person that originally set up the advertising with me at Escrow.com. He was Escrow.com but eventually he left and later came in with a new Escrow company. Payoneer put all kinds of money out but never approached us. I was going to pass anyway for the same reason as above, I didn’t feel it was right to put a competitor right next to an advertiser that had been so good to us for so long. I also knew it wouldn’t last. Unless they got a new name and formed a stand alone entity there was no chance of survival. Domains only isn’t a big enough business to be a side gig.
I don’t forget people that help me on my journey. Its why I mention Francois so often. He too played an important role in where I am, where DSAD is. There are dozens of other people that deserve a mention but this isn’t an awards speech. It’s to remember to thank those that gave you your chance. It’s also to remind those that despite the problems that some may experience with Escrow.com, I am sure glad they are there. They make me much more money securing sales than I ever will with their advertising. They get deals done. Here are today’s names. Click through to see the current price
