Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday November 29th, 2018

I sold another domain through Afternic this week.  I talk over the name and the price on Monday’s edition of Domain Sherpa.  It was a name that I picked up at auction.  Most of my names I sell through Afternic are exactly that. Auction names.  None of them cost more than $500 and most sell in the $2800 to $4800 range.  And to show you I believe in my picks, unless they are a joke name, or I have second thoughts, I generally buy the names that are on closeout when I get home for work.  I do a little bit more homework before I pull the trigger but I get a handful of names each week that make it to closeout.  Yesterday I bought two names that I am positive I will make a profit on.   PondAid and GrowingDesire. Both dot com.  At $12 plus renewal its a no brainer to me.  We already sell a product called pond aid and I know from garden center experience that a dirty pond and natural chemicals to clean a pond are our number one sellers in the pond section.  As for Growing Desire.  Its a positive name, already has a few businesses that would upgrade with the name, is a known term, and would make a good brand for many different things

I’ll have about $40 in the names and I think the names are better than pretty much every name we’ve had in the latest Sherpa portfolios that have been sent it.  Maybe I just take my experience for granted but our portfolios are just consistently so bad.  There  are so many names for under $50 or at closeout that are better and have a higher chance of sale than what they have.  I guess its just practice and experience.  Like anything, it takes a while to learn how to make money.  Here are today’s names.  Click through to see the current price and to fund this daily list

  1. Shane, re,
What is your opinion of the .biz extension?
I bought ($12) from your list 2 years ago and it gets lots of traffic and quite a few low-ball offers 🙂
Estibot has that particular keyword in .com at $350,000.
Do you see .biz gaining value?
I remember in one of your posts you said don’t “give away” your one-word key word domains no matter what extension.
