Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday October 3rd, 2018

Escrow.com

If I were to tell someone that if you worked for 5 years every single day, 2 hours a day, and would make at best $20 a day but if you did, then you would make $200 or more per day for decades to come. All while still working the two hours.  I think most people would take a pass. I think they take the pass because it’s not 100% guaranteed.   I guess it depends on your “other” income sources.  Your general need for money.  And whether you felt I was telling the truth.  The fact is most people aren’t willing to put in years of work with little pay in hopes of building something great.  I’m never sure if its that they don’t believe in themselves, have better things to do with their time, or are lazy.  Might be a little of each.

Domain investment requires this if you are going to bootstrap your portfolio.  You have to sell and build the portfolio, sell and build the portfolio.  Throw in a lot of patience and waiting and you have your business model.  Now you just have to figure out what names to sell and build.  Or you could build another entity to help feed the portfolio, like a website on online business.  This is what I did.  I wasn’t patient enough so I started writing.  That writing has added a lot of extra money to help me be more patient and not have to touch my “real” paychecks. But it was ugly early.  For many, many years I worked for a couple dollars a day.  It was fun, exciting, but less than profitable.

Now when people ask how I bought my portfolio and had money to buy domains the price of cars I tell them 10,000 hours.  I put 10,000 hours in to reading, writing, and studying domains before I really started making money.  It wasn’t the claimed good old boys club, outside cash, or the affiliate money from this site.  The latter part is an important part of my business model but the balance is experience.  It’s hard to teach that.  You can get it faster by doing things like going through DNAcademy but it will take time.  Time that most won’t do.    The key is can you learn what is a good domain investment in the time it takes to run out of money and patience.  Most won’t.    Here are today’s names. Click through to see the current price

Quote of the Day:  “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” – Plato

Domain of the Day: Knockdown.com      The big name of the day.  Some think of boxing or fighting, I think of drywall.  Either way a great brand

Namejet and Sedo Names and Others

JMN.com  Nice LLL.com although there were a few hundred on a newsletter recently with many being  better and much cheaper.   Depends what the reserve is but overall the name still has some good letters

XOPU.com   Low reserve for a CVCV.com but it isn’t top notch.  Uniregistry likes it as top bidder

OctoberSky.com   Sounds like an IPA beer so it would make a great brand

Monopolize.com   56 bidders.  Make the most of things

GamingFeeds.com   All eSports names are worth looking at right now IMO

ONT.NET  Expiry name so no reserve.  Ontario is what most people will see

ONLF.COM   I think reserve is low enough that this one will sell.  Good letters

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

AquaFlow.com    I see irrigation when I see this.  23 years old.  And it doesn’t matter what I see as long as an enduser sees something

ServiceBuddy.com  Service animals all the way

NewLawyer.com   Need a better lawyer?

Bunked.com    Great name for another Snopes like site

TheCoffeelicious.com  The highest priced name on the board today………..for some reason

LoveFoods.com     Love is the brand or just love to eat

GSIP.com  Already at $1500 and climbing

BidTool.com    Going to be used for exactly this

CryptoFence.com  Sounds like a security product for crypto

Fusica.com   12 years old.  Decent brand if you can get it for the right price

BRConsulting.com  Godaddy thinks consulting names must sell based on their valuation

Carengo.com    Car N Go  or Care N go

NaturalHabits.com  Sounds more like a blog than a high value site

PerfectGlasses.com   Why not?  Everyone over exaggerates their goods

BrandConsulting.com  Coming up soon but love the name so I thought I would throw it up

AmazonCars.xyz  this auction smells funny

Godaddy Domains With No Bids

TheHorny.com   no bids at $12.  There are enough horny people the world to give this value

IHateAmericans.com  Somebody is going to buy this you just know it

FlyRockford.com    The real website is FlyRFD.com so this gets a few visits

ShaveMail.com   Not a bad razor subscription name for $12

Giftle.com  I see the word gift and think the users will get it too.  Only two bidders

CleanYourDebts.com  High CPC .  Can see this on a random cable channel commercial at 10 pm

Gatherr.com  These types of names still sell on Brandbucket or Brandpa?

  1. 10,000 hours. Sounds about right. And that is ten thousand SMART hours (and money, blood, sweat, and tears). Seems the general population usually wants the instant gratification.
