DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Friday, July 3rd, 2015

Jul 03 2015

Do you take a profit or do you press on?  It’s a question domain investors ask us all the time.  While you can’t look back and think about how much more you could have made if you kept the names you sold, you certainly can make a decision whether or not you HAVE to sell.  I had to sell because I used the profit to buy more names.  That certainly was the case in the first half of my domain investing career.  The names weren’t that good and I was lucky to sell them.  But the second half I would have been better off just holding the names.  Because the names I sold are now more valuable than anything I bought using the money from the sale.   Its easy to say in hindsight but it now makes me think about what I am selling and what I feel the future of that name holds.  I am selling certain types and holding certain types based on what I feel the price growth of each type in the next 3 years will be.   I don’t sell every name that gets a profitable offer like I used to.  I am actually growing my portfolio when many are thinning it out. But I don’t feel I have much junk in my portfolio. Sure some, but my names are mostly garden related or short.  And a few others mixed in. And I’m trying to add quality every month.  To the point that my portfolio is actually bigger than ever.  In comparison to most domain investors it is actually very tiny.  But I’m not worried about the size, I’m worries about the value of the names and I’m doing fine in that area….or at least I think I am.   Here are today’s names   Can’t wait to see how this finishes.  Never seen one for sale or sell at auction.  Actually never even remembered such things. Doing very well but there are only 100 of them available.  I scan down the list and holy smokes there is another one.  But not doing nearly as well  Since we’re doing dashes we might as well do the L-L.coms   These generally go in the $2K plus range. This one is getting close  And one more.  Doing half as well  Spells like is sounds.  Nice for the price IMO   Surprised this one is so high so early.  But it has good Chinese pattern so sky is the limit  Fails the radio test.  Passes the awesome short domain test  No bidders.  Its going to have to be a buildout but could make you a little money   No bidders. Sounds like an already existing advertising business.  Sell it for $24 and double your money   No bidders.  I think hydroponics when I see this one  Another $1500 for us to buy   Easy crowdfunding name  You can’t go wrong with a flanked by 8s with no 4s in the middle  No flankers but still doing well  Really solid cloud name.  State sound secure and strong.  Unless the state is Illinois or California and state means broke   989 visitors per month for $50  Another name that is higher than I ever thought it would be  Qs used to kill the price, now they’re killing it

VERIFIED GODADDY COUPON CODE: $1.99 New Registration Godaddy STATE  Huge CPC and affiliate money to be made with this one  Doesn’t get much bigger than this data name.  Actually there are a few better but not in this price range. Actually, I don’t know what the price range is

Raise.Money  I do a lot of gTLDs but this one I like  One of the best .io names there is  IMO   Under $600 for a no vowel is a good buy IMO

SEDO’s Live Auctions Going on Now 20 years old and 50 bidders  No bidders.  Great stock market name  Pics or it isn’t Pending delete.  Old show, great name  Stadium or Airline, everyone is looking for a bargain.  Magness von Magnessen   Pending delete and I think the 8s overcome the 4  And they are?  Show them
